Skincare Essentials for Oily/Acne Prone Skin

This year I set a goal to prioritize self. A part of that includes improving the overall health of my skin, starting with the skin on my face.  Our skin is our largest organ, and I want to make sure mine is healthy, smooth and moisturized. Since discovering that I have adult acne, my dermatologist has prescribed a few products that I’m currently using. In addition, she recommended that I use an oil free moisturizer. After doing some research, I discovered the oil free line by Kiehl’s. The products claim to remove excess oil, reduce shine and are ideal for oily to normal skin. I’ve been using it for a few months now, and so far, so good. Of course, no skincare routine is complete with sunscreen. I’m currently using La Roche Posay Anthelios Melt in Milk Sunscreen Lotion-SPF 100. It’s lightweight, moisturizing and doesn’t leave the dreaded white cast.

Although my skin is not at 100% yet, I have seen improvement, which I’m grateful for. Once I find an esthetician, I plan to incorporate facials into my skincare regimen. For the rest of my body, I use Dove sensitive skin soap and moisturize with Nivea lotion.
