40-40-40 Birthday Challenge Update

As I mentioned in my previous 40-40-40 post, I challenged myself to get more active by moving my body 40 minutes a day, for 40 days leading up to my 40th birthday. I am thrilled to let you know that I followed through with what I said I was going to do! It was hard because by the 3rd day I was over it, but I remembered the commitment I made to myself, which pushed me to keep going even when I wasn’t motivated to workout. It takes true discipline to do something when you feel like quitting. But I reminded myself of my “why” and did the work anyway despite not feeling like it…even while on vacation! I’m so proud of myself for putting my health and wellness first so I can be better for myself and my family. Now I’m working towards making better food choices on a consistent basis. Pray for me, y’all!

This challenge taught me a lot about myself. At one point I felt like I was lacking in terms of discipline, but it’s been in me all along. I realize that when I prioritize and set time for things that are important, I make it a point to be on point by doing what I said I would do. I look forward to practicing being intentional and disciplined in other areas of my life. I know that by following through, I’m closer to becoming the best version of myself.

Exercising your “discipline muscle” will always be beneficial to your life. If you have goals that have been placed on the back burner, I hope this inspires you to go after them!
