Girls Trip: What to Eat in Houston, Texas

Last summer I took a sister/cousins trip to Houston, Texas. We enjoyed four days together filled with great food, shopping and quality time catching up. I didn’t share much of the trip on social media at the time, because I just wanted to be in the moment with my family and enjoy a new place. However, as we get ready for this years girls trip in a few weeks, I thought it would be great to share the food places we were able to check out last year in Houston.

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen

Our first stop was Pappadeaux’s for lunch. We ordered it all, from shrimp, to pasta, to calamari to crab. Everything was so tasty! The drinks were a hit, too! 10/10The Waffle BusThe Waffle Bus specializes in waffle sandwiches and different types of waffle dishes to include wings and waffles, waffle fries, waffle burgers and waffle chicken sandwiches, etc. The food was so good! 10/10

Sweets with L&L Cotton Candy

While shopping at The Galleria, we stumbled upon the cutest cotton candy stand. My sister picked up some cotton candy treats for her kids, which they later enjoyed. Be sure to support this black owned business when you’re in Houston. 10/10

Brenner’s Steakhouse on the Bayou

Brenner’s is an upscale restaurant known for its one-of-a-kind steak and seafood options. I ordered the Caesar salad for my starter, and the Renaissance Farms Roasted Chicken for my main dish. I enjoyed the most tender, well-seasoned chicken and mashed potatoes. It was divine! Everyone loved the food. 10/10+++

The Turkey Leg Hut

The Turkey Leg Hut is a really popular spot that often has long lines. We decided to order online, pickup and eat our food at the Air BnB. I ordered a turkey leg stuffed with dirty rice, along with the swamp fries. The turkey leg was good, but the swamp fries were phenomenal! I’m not really much of a turkey leg girl, but I am a French fry connoisseur! The swamp fries were loaded with smoked turkey, Monterey jack cheese, cheddar cheese and the signature Turkey Leg Hut sauce. Y’all…you need to get this the next time you’re in Houston! Please support this black owned business! 10/10

Chapman and Kirby

Chapman & Kirby is a nightlife spot that offers original American cocktails and tasty drinks. We went here one night and enjoyed ourselves. I ordered a pizza, which was really good. 8/10
