4 Ways to Start Your Workday on a Positive Note
Everybody wants to start the day off on a positive note, right? I know I do! Check out the tips below to see my suggestions on how to start your workday the right way!1. Get a good nights rest. This is something that I’ve been struggling with lately. It’s so important to get good uninterrupted sleep. I find myself waking up 1-2 times a night to use the rest room and sometimes it’s difficult to get back to sleep. Also, if my hubby is snoring, it’s nearly impossible to fall back asleep, unless I’m beyond exhausted. When I don’t sleep well, I wake up grumpy and tired, which is not ideal when I have to go to work.To combat this issue, I’m trying to actually get in bed early and limit my water intake so that I won’t have to keep waking up to use the restroom. I also want to cut off all social media an hour before bed. Staying up looking through Instagram keeps me wired when I need to be winding down. I notice that when I put the phone down and get in bed earlier, I wake up feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the day.2. Lay out your clothes the night before. If you’re like me, getting to places on time can be a struggle when you don’t know what you want to wear. It’s important for me to have my entire outfit laid out the night before in order to arrive on time for work. So often I don’t do it, and find myself rushing out of the house. As a result, I end up frustrated and stressed out.Since I know I can be a bit indecisive when it comes to what I want to wear, I’ve learned (and am still learning) that when I prepare my outfits in advance, I end up making it to work early, eliminating stress.3. Make time for morning devotion and meditation. Each morning, one of the first things I like to do is pick up my phone and read my bible app. I just think it’s important to start my day off with the Word because it sets the tone for the entire day. Even if I don’t have much time, taking 5-10 minutes to read something uplifting puts me in the right frame of mind to start my day on a positive note. It also gives me the confidence and courage to tackle whatever challenges may come my way.4. Eat a healthy breakfast. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I agree! Nobody wants to get to work at 8:00am and already starving by 9:30am! That’s why it’s important to eat a healthy filling breakfast. Even if it’s an apple and oatmeal, or a granola bar, banana and a bottle of water, I try my best to eat something that will keep me full and satisfied for as long as possible. I’m a better worker and am more focused when I’ve had a good meal.I hope you find these tips helpful. If you have some others that you suggest, let me know in the comments below!
