3 Reasons Why You Should Invest in Bridal Pictures
1. Your wedding is a once in a lifetime experience. Capture it!For most people, getting married is a one-time thing. Since weddings are such special occasions, it’s important to have pictures as mementos of that special day. Sure, on you’re actual wedding day you’ll take plenty of pictures with your husband (and if you’re like me, you’ll have engagement photos too), but I feel it’s necessary to have your own photo shoot. As the bride, you’re one of the most important persons at your wedding. When it’s all about you, that’s the time to go all out and show off a bit! When the wedding is over and you think of all the planning and work that went into finding the perfect dress, accessories, hair and makeup, you’ll have beautiful pictures to look back on.2. Surprise your husband with pictures in your gown. One reason why I wanted to take bridal portraits was so that my husband could have some nice pictures of me in my wedding gown. I decided to take photos in a location totally different from our wedding venue. My photographer suggested the Arboretum and I’m glad she did because I was thinking that would be the perfect place. The Arboretum is filled with beautiful flowers and lush greenery, which was the perfect backdrop for my pictures. I feel like my lace gown, natural hair and overall look just went well in a garden area. The pictures came out phenomenal. So much so, that it was difficult to pick one shot to put on display. When my husband saw my bridal portrait for the first time at our reception, his jaw dropped! At that moment everything was all worth it and I immediately knew he loved it!3. There will be minimal time to take solo pictures during the cocktail hour.Right after my wedding ceremony, we had the cocktail hour and the reception immediately followed. While the guests enjoyed food and drinks during that time, my photographer had to get a lot of pictures done during that short 60 minutes. Fortunately, my husband took pictures with his groomsmen, best men, ushers and his immediate family a couple hours before the wedding. I was able to get a few shots with my sisters and parents in the dressing room before the ceremony too, but everything else needed to be done before the start of the reception. We didn’t want our guests to have to wait much longer than the 1 hour, so we had to move fast. It was a lot and didn’t leave much time for solo pictures. If your reception immediately follows your ceremony like mine did, I’d definitely recommend scheduling your own bridal pictures prior to your wedding day when you’ll have ample time to get great shots by yourself.A special thanks to Ashleigh Crawley of Still Shots Photography for my wonderful bridal pictures!
