Shop Smart for Spring
It’s been spring for over a month now, and I’m in the process of slowly incorporating a few new spring pieces into my wardrobe. I plan to mostly wear what’s already in my closet, but I do want to add a couple new items that I will mix and match with what I already have. Since I’m on a budget, an easy and affordable way to spruce up my wardrobe is to only shop for new items when they’re on sale. When I say sale, I don’t mean just 20% off here or there, I prefer to find items that are an additional percentage off the sale price. A lot of times when I’m shopping, I’ll only buy items that are significantly reduced in price. That way, I’m able to bring in new pieces to enhance my wardrobe while not blowing the budget. It’s more important for me to be financially responsible than to pay full price for something that I know is going to go on sale in a few weeks. Now I love a great sale, so I make sure that I subscribe to receive emails from all of my favorite stores. These stores literally send out emails everyday offering coupon codes and letting consumers know about new arrivals and when sales will start. When shopping on a budget, it’s important to take advantage of these offers and incentives. One of my favorite places to shop is at Loft. Every few weeks Loft will have an additional 40%, 50% or 60% off sale prices. Whenever this happens, I always make time in my schedule to check them out. In addition to shopping sale, I do actually look at stuff that’s not yet on sale so that I’ll have an idea about what I want to buy when the price is marked down later. My top and pants are from Loft and both were bought on sale. Although I purchased the top a few months ago, the pants were purchased this weekend for an additional 60% off the sale price, making them less than $13! You can’t beat that with a stick!Do you shop sale? What shopping strategies do you use to stay on budget? Let me know in the comments below!* Photos by Dr. GC, Jr. *
