If you’ve been reading CKC for a while, you already know that I define my overall style as fashionably casual. I always like to look the part, but only tend to dress up for special occasions (weddings, church, blog/business events, date night, etc.). As often as I can, I like to show how you can dress casual and still look cute at the same time. Below are tips to help you master the art of dressing casually, stylishly and comfortably.1. Wear comfortable yet stylish shoesWhen dressing casually, one of the first things I decide on as far as my overall outfit is which shoes I’m going to wear. Wearing heels daily is not practical for my lifestyle so it’s important that I wear shoes that are comfortable as to not exacerbate my knee injury. These high top Sperry’s are the perfect blend of comfort and style and they worked well with my outfit.Another reason why I feel it’s important to wear comfortable yet stylish shoes is because when you walk comfortably in your shoes, in turn you look better and feel better. Nothing’s worse than seeing those girls with cute outfits on but they’re struggling to walk back to their cars after a long night of partying. So, a good rule of thumb to consider is, if you don’t look comfortable and/or feel comfortable in it, don’t wear it.2. Let your hairstyle serve as an accessoryHaving a fierce hairstyle can step up your outfit big time! Since going natural, I feel like I’m able to do more with my hair because it’s so versatile. Wearing a creative hairstyle adds edge to a casual look or to any look for that matter.3. Wear makeupWearing a little bit of makeup combined with beautiful hair is the “icing on the cake” when it comes to your overall look. You can wear something as simple as a t-shirt and jeans and still look polished if your makeup is done.4. Wear clothes that aren’t constrictiveI like to wear a jean or pant that has some stretch in it so that I can easily maneuver when I’m out and about. It’s also a great idea to wear layers so that you can easily throw on a cardigan late at night when it’s chilly or take it off during the day when it’s warm.Do you dress for style or comfort?
