The Top 5 Items to Add to Your Wardrobe this Fall

It’s officially fall and I couldn’t be happier. Fall is my favorite season when it comes to fashion. Bring on the layers, boots and fabulous outerwear. I plan to mostly shop my closet as I always do. However, I will add a few new pieces to my wardrobe this season. Continue reading and consider five items you may want to add to your closet, too.

1. BOOTS

If you don’t already have a classic black or brown pair of boots, be sure to get some soon. Depending on your taste, you may want to go for a heel, combat boot, thigh-high or even a platform wedge. I tend to like most styles, and hope to update my black flat boots that have some wear and tear. I’d also like to add a statement boot, and have my eye on this black and white pair by Dolce Vita. If you’re looking to add a statement boot, opt for something in a bold color, print or metallic. The styling options are endless with boots, as they can be worn with dresses, shorts, skirts, and jeans, among others. They are certainly an essential in your wardrobe.

2. Outerwear

I love layering in the fall, and adding nice outerwear will allow me to layer in style. Bomber jackets are trending, and I’d like to purchase a black one soon. In addition to bomber jackets, consider adding a cropped denim, light trench and/or leather biker jacket. I would love to find a red leather biker jacket after missing out on one a few months ago. All options can be styled jeans and a shirt, dresses, knits and skirts, and more.

3. Updated Denim

When it comes to denim, the more effortless the better. 90’s baggy, wide leg, straight, and relaxed jeans have been trending for a while now. For most, skinny jeans are a thing of the past; except when it comes to wearing over the knee boots. I’m still searching for the perfect silhouette at a great price point.

The denim maxi skirt is back. I don’t think I’ve worn one since high school, which was over 20 years ago, and I don’t see myself wearing one at this time. Now when it comes to denim shorts (styled with boots), count me in!

4. The Essentials

The start of a new season is a great time to refresh your essential clothing items. I’m looking forward to adding another white button down shirt, black blazer, black/white V-neck shirts (great for layering) and a classic pair of jeans. These clothing items can be mixed and matched with existing items in my wardrobe. Be sure to do an audit of your closet to see what needs to be updated, before buying for the new season

5. Accessories

If you know me, you know I’m an accessories girl! Give me all the handbags, belts, scarves, sunglasses and jewelry. Turing a simple look into an elevated look can be done with the right accessories. Even if you just have the clothing essentials, adding the right accessories can really take your look up several notches. I believe in investing in top quality accessories. I’ve always been a handbag lover, but lately I’ve been heavily into sunglasses. Even if you’re wearing something as simple as a t-shirt and jeans, throw on a great pair of sunglasses, and you’ll automatically look pulled together.
