Makeda Twists and My Experience at Salon Crie

IMG_5298I’m currently wearing a new protective style called Makeda Twists. I purchased five bundles of the Fro’Kinks hair in the color Midnight from xpressyourkinks.com. This hair is a human synthetic blend that should be cared for as if it were your own real hair. I really love the hair because it is lightweight and blends really well with my natural texture.I got my Makeda Twists installed at Salon Crie in Greensboro, NC. Salon Crie is a textured hair studio specializing in natural hair. There are several things I like about Salon Crie. The stylists are knowledgeable and talented, which in my opinion is most important when someone does my hair. I also love the fact that they get you in and out quickly. At Salon Crie, your appointment time is YOUR time. I really do not like being in the hair salon ALL day so I appreciate the fact that the stylists value not just their time, but mine too! Furthermore, the atmosphere in the salon is relaxing and calm, which is always a win-win in my book! The total amount of time it took to do my hair was about 4 hours. That time included washing and drying my hair before the installation process began. That’s super fast in my opinion! I’ve been to other stylists for protective styles and it’s taken five hours or more just to do the installation (in these instances, I had to wash my own hair at home before I came).FullSizeRenderOftentimes when I get any type of braided style, there is a bit of discomfort because I am tender-headed and have been all my life (the struggle is real lol). Even when I ask stylists not to braid tight, I still end up having to take a couple ibuprofens to eliminate the terrible headache caused by the tension from the braids. This, however, was not the case at Salon Crie. The entire experience was pleasant. After my appointment, I was able to go about the rest of my day without any type of discomfort.I’ve been wearing my Makeda Twists for six weeks now and I’m hoping to keep them for 2 more weeks. I love the fact that they are versatile. I tend to wear this protective style in two strand twists during the week, which kind of gives the look of kinky twists and is ideal while working out. I unravel the twists and wear a twist-out look on the weekends. I will definitely go back to Salon Crie to get this protective style again in the near future! What protective styles have you tried this summer? Have you worn Makeda Twists before? If so, how did you like them? Comment below! For more information about Salon Crie, check them out on Facebook and Instagram.
